Jeanne Shen introduced this week’s guest speaker, Monica Floyd, DC Program Director of Streetwise Partners. StreetWise Partners’ goal is to leverage mentorship to increase employment opportunities for adults from overlooked and under-resourced communities within New York, Washington, D.C., and Detroit.
Monica joined the StreetWise Partners team in March 2018. Prior to StreetWise Partners, Monica was the manager of community programs at HandsOn Bay Area, a San Francisco based nonprofit committed to connecting individuals with volunteer opportunities in their community. She currently sits on the advisory council of the DC Mentoring Matters Coalition run by United Way of the National Capital Area - helping create and execute strategic goals for mentoring organizations in the greater DC Metro region.
Monica volunteers with a variety of organizations including Oakland Promise, Housing Up, and DC Greens. Monica holds a Bachelor's degree from American University in International Development.
