Meeting in Review April 22

Monday, April 27, 2020 By: Nancy Riker

Wonderful to "see" so many fellow Rotarians at our 6pm Virtual Meeting Wednesday April 22nd. Steve Liston manages the meeting with his customary aplomb. We appreciate your Zoom talents too, Steve.

President Lynn kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome to over 40 attendees.

Marilyn Nevy Cruz introduced our speaker, Premal Dharia, Founder and Director of the Defender Impact Initiative (DII) http://www.defenderimpact.org.

Her 20+ years experience as a Public Defender and her dedicated passion for challenging the injustice in the our country's criminal system lead her to create DII, working to transform our criminal system through strategic engagement with public defenders.

At the conclusion of her presentation and a robust period of questions, President Lynn thanked Premal and informed her that in honor of her time with us the Club will plant a tree in her honor. We honor our speakers through our Trees for the Capitol program, planting a tree for each speaker in partnership with the National Park Service.  Her certificate will be mailed and she will be invited to the tree planting.

Lively fellowship chats followed yet we all long for the time we can meet in person and feel the energy that is Rotary.

Next Zoom meeting 6pm Wednesday April 29th.

Meeting adjourned at 7:05pm.
