Membership Committee
Recruitment & Outreach Efforts:
There are multiple fellowship events taking place throughout the month of October and November. Marilyn Cruz is looking to host a Halloween event for the Members under 40. Alexander Tu will host a Friendsgiving event in November. Ken Brown will provide the events and details that are taking place at Dupont Underground and the event space always welcomes fellow Rotarians if they would like to volunteer.
Prospective Membership Meetings:
We had no prospective members attend the October 5 meeting. We are scheduled to host the next event November 16 at 6:00 p.m. Catherine Pociask will update the Signup Genius event calendar.
New Members & Membership Guides:
Bill Dent plans to send an email out this week to recruit membership guides. He will circulate existing materials for new guides, so they have a structured resource to access. Catherine Pociask will be Hannah Browne's guide.
Fellowship Committee
Mary Goldsmith continues to arrange small group fellowship events. Get-togethers were hosted by Max Salas, Lisa Cohen, Jill Kent, and Bill Busker. On October 31, there will be a Halloween event at Arthur Landwehr's house.
Health and Wellness Committee
The Health & Wellness Committee continues to send out birthday and club anniversary cards to all members. Cards are distributed electronically via the Jacquie Lawson online site as well as by snail mail to those senior members who may not consistently use email. On behalf of our club, the Health & Wellness Committee also expressed condolences, support, and congratulations to those members (including Rotaract members) who experienced a family member or pet death, became ill or got married, respectively.
As part of our member outreach efforts, committee member Natalie Korytnyk designed and led two successful Zoom sessions ("COVID Conversations”) to engage members in a discussion about the positive and challenging aspects of life during the pandemic. The small group pilot sessions, held on September 25 and October 2, provided approximately 20 of our members with an opportunity to share their experiences in an intimate environment and exchange tips. Member informal feedback received todate on these two sessions has been very positive.
Finally, the Health & Wellness Committee has joined President Nancy, President-Elect Bill Dent, and the Membership Committee in a club-wide outreach effort to contact our members. During these phone calls, we are asking our members how they are doing and gathering DACdb profile information in an effort to complete all member profiles.
Member Moment Committee
The Member Moment Committee is continuing to recruit and coach club members to provide the Member Moment at our Wednesday meetings, together with a Member Snapshot which appears in the Progress Newsletter. Our workload has been reduced since President Nancy has decided to have a Member Moment on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays instead of most Wednesdays as in the past.Read More
