Meeting in Review, December 9, 2020

President Elect Nominee Marilyn Nevy Cruz opened the virtual meeting at 12:32 p.m. She welcomed participants
Secretary Whitney Doll welcomed visitors and visiting Rotarians; visitors introduced themselves.
Sergeant-at-Arms Bob Schott led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and then announced birthdays and anniversaries for the week.

- Lisa McCurdy spoke about the DC Club Foundation Campaign.
- May O'Brien shared articles she wrote for the District Newsletter Open Forum newsletter: Peace Builders in West Africa, Mediators Beyond Borders International, and Rotary Scholar on Women’s Role in Peace & Security Shares the Stage with Former Secretary of State (page 13).
- President Nancy Riker shared about our monthly happy hour (next one on Thursday, December 10) and the holiday party (on Wednesday, December 23).
David Klaus introduced our speaker, Nebojša Kaluderovic, Ambassador of Montenegro to the United States.
Ambassador Kaluderovic has been the Ambassador of Montenegro to the United States since October 2016. Previously, he was the Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the United Nations and Other International Organizations (Geneva, Switzerland) from 2014-2016. He has also served as Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro); Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro); State Secretary for Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro); Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the United Nations, DPC: 11 August 2006 (New York, USA); Ambassador of Montenegro to Cuba and Costa Rica on non-residential basis; Special Envoy of the Government of the Republic of Montenegro to the United Nations; Permanent Representative of Serbia and Montenegro to the United Nations, DPC: 3 May 20104 (New York, USA); Chef de Cabinet of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro); Chef de Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro); and Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Montenegro (Podgorica, Montenegro).
